Style.com: A User’s Manual

No matter how clearly or concisely you try to present the information on a Web site, promotional space is at such a premium you always worry that some content might be overlooked. With that in mind, here’s a handy guide to all our coverage of the fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. Now you never need miss a photo, post, or tweet again.

Runway Reviews and Photos: Judging by last week’s record page views—a huge thank you to our new and returning users—you’re not having any trouble finding these. But as a reminder, this page is a convenient place to locate every designer covered in our Spring 2010 reporting. And don’t forget that you can view each collection in full-screen as well as in regular slideshow format and that many shows feature front-row and backstage-beauty photos as well as runway shots.

NEW! Shop the Looks: One exciting addition to our runway coverage is a brand new shopping experience called Shop the Looks. We’re categorizing each runway look into one of 36 trends, from boho to minimal. If something on the runway grabs your eye, simply click on the Shop the Looks link to find similarly themed looks from a range of top designers and retailers. Here, for example, you can get a jump on the animal-print trend that roared to life during NY Fashion Week.

Street-Style Photos: Because trends don’t just start on the catwalk, we’ve asked popular photoblogger Tommy Ton to document the best off-runway looks from New York to Paris. Tommy has a talent for catching fashionable types in spontaneous, informal moments—not as easy as it looks with a crowd that’s ready to pose at the drop of a Philip Treacy hat. You’ll find his daily photo diary here.

NEW! The Fashion Feed: The Twitter revolution means that the fashion-reporting cycle is even faster than ever, but how to separate the tweets from the chaff? Our innovative new Fashion Feed gathers the most fashionable Twitterers, from The New York Times‘ The Moment to Style.com’s own globe-trotting correspondent Dizzy Blazeberg, in one place. Just click here for a real-time snapshot of what’s happening in the front row and beyond.

Style.com on Twitter: Of course, if you want only the very best tweets, your favorite Web site is now on Twitter (a little late to the party, we admit, but fashionably so, let’s hope). Start following us today.

Style.com on the iPhone: On the other hand, we were way ahead of the pack in embracing the iPhone, and we like to think our app remains the best: It has everything you love about Style.com on the computer, without the hassle of being tied to your desk. If you haven’t already, download our iPhone app now. (Oh, by the way, need a stylish cover for your Apple device? We can help there, too.)

But wait, that’s not even the half of it. Don’t miss:

• Our up-to-the-minute party reports.

• Our award-winning runway videos.

• The Lookbooks that allow you to save and share your favorite photos from the site.

• The regular bulletins you’ll find in our Style File and Beauty Counter blogs.

• And last but not least, be sure to vote for the Look of the Day.

Really, there’s only one thing for it: You’re going to need a bigger screen.

Blasblog: Packing For Paris, Finalizing The Fêtes

When I opted out of Milan fashion week, I felt a bit pleased with myself. Post-London, seeing my colleagues pack their bags for yet another foreign city to stay in another hotel and see more fashion shows, I was happy to come home and recharge. But as I got the late-night texts and saw the shows here on Style.com, I started to feel left out. Maybe that’s why I’m raring to go to Paris tomorrow night for another week of fun, fashion, and fabulous parties.

Speaking of the latter, as I look at the schedule, I’m particularly intrigued. Here we are still in a recession and hearing tales of the industry’s economic woes, but I’ve got a full roster of late-night revelry. It starts with a Montblanc fête on October 1 and ends with a private cocktail at the Ritz (oh, how I’ve missed the Ritz!) hosted by Eugenie Niarchos for Repossi jewels. Sandwiched in between are nonstop party hops.

My top three? First, there’s Chrissie Miller’s Sophomore party at Le Baron on Saturday night. (Last year she introduced me to none other than Pamela Anderson. I’m curious to see who she’s got up her sleeve this time.) Then there’s Mario Testino’s book launch of MaRio de Janeiro (ha!) on Monday night. Finally, there’s another Fendi fête. Last season, Karl and co. hired Beth Ditto to perform and writhe around in barely a stitch while Kate and co. watched in shock and awe. Who have they got this time? It’s a surprise. Check back here for that tidbit and of course all the best parties and pics from the City of Light!—Derek Blasberg

Paris Highlights: Le Beat Goes On

With just one day of rest between Milan’s Extreme blow-out Monday night and today’s shows in Paris, RTW devotees are gearing up for the Month of Fashion’s final lap. Paris, like its metropolitan counterparts, is scaling back a bit this season (we hear Givenchy’s dark-and-rocking after-party has been canceled, for one), but the French city is still hosting more than its share of feuding fêtes.

Gareth Pugh returns to the City of Light again this week, but his after-party—tonight at the Passage du Désir—will have a touch of London to it: Alistair Allan, Boombox’s famed shutterbug, will be snapping away (stock up on glitter and face paint).

Magazine editor-slash-newly minted online diarist-slash-nightlife impresario Olivier Zahm has teamed up with André and Jean-Yves Le Fur to relaunch sixties club-scene staple Le Montana. Next to the storied Café de Flore, it’s got a revamped aesthetic courtesy of Vincent Darré. It opens Thursday, and Diane von Furstenberg, for one, will be there. She’s the latest cover model for Zahm’s Purple mag, after all.

Fresh from her Love cover, Beth Ditto and the Gossip will be crooning to revelers next Wednesday at Fendi’s post-show fête—fast becoming a must-attend music event for fans of controversial Brit acts (last year’s headliner was Amy Winehouse). As for Karl’s other label, guests at his and Jefferson Hack’s dinner chez Coco on Rue Cambon next Tuesday can flip through Another Fashion Book, published by Lagerfeld’s personal printing press, Edition 7L, before it goes on sale at Colette.

As for the shows, expect a crowded house at Marco Zanini’s debut presentation for Rochas on Thursday. Same goes for that evening’s Nina Ricci show, heavily rumored to be Olivier Theyskens’ last. And, for one last spin on your dance card, Charlize Theron is tipped to be attending downtown It girl fave label Sophomore’s late-night bash at Le Baron on Friday. You hear that, Milan? We see your Scarlett, and we raise you.—Alison Baenen
